Who We Are

Our Mission

Summit Church exists to lead people into a transformational relationship with Jesus

Equipping every believer to live as a disciple and empowering them to make disciples locally and globally. We are a Spirit-filled, truth-grounded sending center, mobilizing the Church to impact the world.

Our Vision

At Summit Church, our vision is to see every believer become a true disciple of Jesus

Letting Him transform what we care about so that our hearts align with His. From that foundation, we live as everyday missionaries, intentionally building relationships where we learn, live, work, and play. We seek out “discipleable” people and gather in Discipleship Summits where transformation and multiplication begin.

Our prayer is that this lifestyle produces a missional overflow—impacting our neighborhoods and cities through geographic, demographic, and numerical growth. As this culture of discipleship deepens, Summit Church will function as a sending center, equipping and launching missionaries throughout the Toledo Metro area, major US cities, and around the world.

If we are truly going to be everything that God called us to be, then it must begin with a lifetime commitment to truly being a disciple of Jesus by allowing Him to change what we care about to match and reflect what He cares about. Our goal has never been to just “do” or even “be” better, but to be conformed into the image of Jesus. This is undeniably the linchpin of the apostolic kingdom culture. Discipleship transformation occurs through the influence of His Word and His Spirit. When we commit to living as fully devoted followers of Jesus, what is most important to Him becomes most important to us. Our priorities are altered, and we begin to make the changes needed in our lives out of our desire to please Him.

We know that the most important thing to Jesus is to reach the lost with the gospel of the Kingdom. As disciples of Jesus, this becomes the very reason for everything in our lives. Fulfilling the mission of Jesus requires us to run everything we do through the filter of reaching those around us with the message of hope. We begin living on mission where we LEARN, LIVE, WORK, & PLAY for the purpose of identifying discipleable people. We then have the responsibility of walking discipleable people through the process of truly being a disciple of Jesus through the formation of multiplying discipleship groups we call Discipleship Summits.

As a person experiences the transformational power of the gospel in their lives, they need to share their stories with others around them who need to experience it for themselves. From the very moment someone starts to experience that life change, we want to send them back out into their world to reach their sphere of influence. But this sending is done within the context of discipleship so that they have accountability and guidance in reaching their world. The incubator for multiplication is in multiplying discipleship groups (Discipleship Summits), but should be evidenced in missional overflow in various groups (language, interest, etc.), new church plants/ missions, church attendance, etc.
